PHIL HENDERSON
(Composer)
Phil was educated at The Royal Hospital School,
Holbrook. He went on to study music at Knellar Hall. During
the late 60's his first song was recorded on the Parlophone
label, and he also arranged/composed jingles for Radio
Luxembourg.
In 1969 he recorded The Road album for Pye
records, which featured Steve Hackett (Genesis) and The
Heather Bros (Slice of Saturday Night).
More recently The Phil Henderson Orchestra featured on Hackett's FEEDBACK 86
album on a track featuring Bonnie Tyler.
Eternally Free , a concert work and a CD produced by
Gumption Music, was composed by Phil when he moved to
Haworth in 1999.
Phil's song writing collaboration with Producer/lyricist
Michael E. Ward brought Ratcatcher to the London stage in
1997 and a CD was produced with The Wren Orchestra.
Phil
and Michael worked together for the next seven years on the
musical The Far Pavilions, which Michael produced. The show
opened in London's West End in March 2005.
Phil's latest CD creation, A
Child's Garden of Verses, was a personal inspiration
from the life and writings of Robert Louis Stevenson.
The stage production is in the pipeline. |
